Travel Insurance FAQs

Am I able to get travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions?

Yes, we are able to provide travel insurance quotes for those with pre-existing medical conditions. We ask that you are upfront with our brokers about ALL medical conditions and treatment you have had over the last few years so that they can accurately inform insurers and offer appropriate cover. If you are unsure whether something should be disclosed, please inform our brokers who will advise you.

Ideally, you should arrange your insurance as soon as you book your holiday.

Your holiday doesn’t only face risks once you step onto the plane. Something unexpected could happen in the weeks or months before you travel and force you to cancel your plans.

It is important to know that while travel insurance is not mandatory, it is highly recommended and must be taken out before you leave the UK.  Otherwise, you will not be able to buy a policy to cover you.

No, Travel Insurance must be arranged before you depart. Our policies are designed to cover unexpected events that occur during your trip, but cover cannot be purchased once you are already overseas. To ensure full protection, it’s best to secure your travel insurance before leaving your home country.

Yes, travel insurance is just as important for short trips, as unexpected events like flight cancellations, lost luggage, or medical emergencies can still occur. Our policies can be tailored to cover a single trip for a specific duration or provide annual cover for frequent travellers. Coverage may also depend on factors such as age, as some insurers may have limitations for extended travel beyond 14 days for certain age groups. It’s always best to choose a policy that matches your travel plans to ensure you’re fully protected.

It is recommended that you have travel insurance for all trips, however, there are certain countries that have made travel insurance mandatory for entry, or to obtain a visa.

These countries include, but are not limited to, Cuba, Turkey, Qatar, Iran, Morocco, Thailand, UAE, Togo, Algeria, Romania, Croatia, Moldova, Georgia, Aruba, Cambodia, Lebanon, Seychelles, Antarctica.

The guidance regularly changes, so it is important to check the FCDO travel advice website for updates and entry/visa requirements before travelling.
