Long-Term Care FundingAre you concerned about the cost of Care and/or Nursing Homes? There is, with the exception of some nursing requirements, no help from the State until the assets fall below £23,000 (In England – Tax year 2011/12). Below £23,000 the provision is then Means Tested. However, with careful planning, many people can mitigate the risk of the value of assets being reduced to almost nothing (£14,000 for tax year 2011/12). This will enable the affairs of the person concerned to be managed by the appointed Attorney. Otherwise it will be necessary to apply to the Court of Protection which will require regular reports.
